Maureen FitzSimons, better known as Maureen O'Hara in America, was an exceptional child. For a child from Irish background, surrounded by talented parents and family members, they had innate talents. Maureen was welcomed into the safe haven of her parents on August 17 1920, located in Ranelagh (a suburb within Dublin), Ireland. She was the daughter of Marguerita Lulburn FitzSimons was a skilled contralto. Her father, Charles FitzSimons, managed a business in Dublin and was also the owner of the famous Irish soccer club "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons came second in a household of six FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons James O'Hara rounded off the gorgeous family. Maureen was a great athlete and participated in rough, competitive games as a child. The combination of this passion and her gift to perform was impressive. In the end, she won the majority of the Feis Awards for acting and dramatic performances in her country of birth. At age fourteen, she was admitted to the Abbey Theater, where her goal was to study the art of opera and classical theatre.
